Students will work with a grocery chain on market basket analysis and use data mining techniques to uncover associations between purchased items. Students will identify combinations of items that customers buy together and highlight the relationships between items in a single purchase/basket. Students will contribute to conversations about pricing, promotions, assortment, and store/shelf layouts with the company and also provide insight to assist with prioritization of market opportunities while optimizing loyalty program touch points.
Student Responsibilities:
Analyze customers’ shopping habits at customer level
Develop dashboards that align with new strategic KPIs to drive higher sales and active customer file growth for the organization
Create actionable, data-driven insights from customer data Identify actionable opportunities within the data to drive top line
Work closely with data warehouse team for deep dive analytics
Requirements:
Familiarity with Data mining techniques
Knowledge of SAS, Python or R
Familiarity with quantitative and statistical concepts
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact well with all levels of management
Ability to work with large datasets
Team player with the ability to build productive relationships
Business writing and presentation skills
Knowledge of project management
Strong technical skills in Microsoft Office and data visualization tools
