Description:

Our client database captures and organizes the actual spend from the world’s largest media buying groups, as well as leading independents. The database offers detailed ad intelligence across all media types, including Television, Digital, Out-of-Home, Print, and Radio. Depending on the market, data can be broken down by unit cost, media owner, ad type, buy type, advertiser product category, and other dimensions. The database is used to determine media mix models, create competitive benchmarks, and gain visibility into pricing level data. The data also allow understanding marketplace trends on a product category level, and evaluation of sporting event ROI.

Team Responsibilities:

As part of the team, you will be responsible for:

Developing forecasting models to predict media market shares
Identifying trends in the market

Assisting investment in media market

Guiding the client towards the goal of improving database subscriptions and usage

Building an in-depth understanding of the advertising markets

Assisting businesses to shape advertising strategies

Team Qualifications:

The team members should have the ability to:

Develop forecasting models for media expenditures at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons

Use statistical and trend-based models to generate forecasts

Apply error analysis techniques to evaluate forecasts, validate data and improve forecasting

Summarize and aggregate forecasts to provide reporting to business partners

Understand inputs and explain variances between multiple demand scenarios

Provide support to the key client managers.

The application for the Industry Capstone Program, for Summer 2022, opens on April 29th. All interested students must submit their application by May 9th at 11:59 PM (at the latest). All selected students will be matched to a project and provided with onboarding & registration information before May 19th (first day of classes). To apply, students must first complete our google form (linked below) and then upload a copy of their resume via CapSource (also below). All interested students must complete two steps, in order to apply for Summer 2022 projects: Step 1: Complete our google form here: https://forms.gle/AN2pijgjrtcfDsBb9  Step 2: Return to CapSource and upload a PDF version of your one-page, professional resume (below) Once you complete this form & submit your resume, you will receive a confirmation email from businessprojects@stevens.edu within 24-72 hours (this does not include weekends - any applications submitted on Saturdays/Sundays will receive a confirmation email on the following Monday).

Mid-Term Presentations

Mid-Term Presentations

All students will participate in mid-term presentations (virtual). The mid-term presentations are a great opportunity for students to practice their public speaking skills, and showcase their statement of work, deliverables, and goals for the project. Students will create a PowerPoint presentation and speak for 15 minutes, followed by 15 minutes of Q&A. This event is only open to School of Business faculty & staff. Corporate partners are only invited to final presentations in August! Christina Sargiss will email all students with presentation information, in early June.
