New Partnership Announcement

Lenexa, Kansas USA & New York, New York USA – The International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE) is pleased to announce a new partnership with CapSource, an EdTech startup that connects higher education programs with real companies for the purpose of project-based experiential learning. After a successful pilot this past April, CapSource has been officially contracted to coordinate the 2019 IACBE Annual Student Case-Study Competition held in conjunction with the 2019 Annual Conference and Assembly Meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada USA.

The new partnership is innovative and geared to propel the IACBE annual student competition to new heights through the use of Live Business Cases with real host company clients. During the 2018 IACBE Annual Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana this past April, a pilot of the new format was introduced and was very popular among participating teams and observing business faculty. CapSource Live Business Cases are designed to put students into the driver’s seat as they solve real business challenges and propose viable solutions directly to the real business executives that are in charge.

Jordan Levy, Executive Director and Founder of CapSource says, “Watching the students present directly to the host company executive team last year was invigorating and reassuring that students can absolutely produce valuable insights for companies if they’re given the right resources and structure to do so. We’re very excited about helping IACBE take the case competition to the next level by identifying companies that are interested in student insights and proud to contribute meaningfully to the education process.”

Rochelle Petway, Director of External Affairs at IACBE says, “Through this partnership, IACBE is setting the bar high for their member institutions by integrating project-based experiential learning with real host companies directly into the annual assembly meeting through the student competition. Having the students on premise and excited to compete during the annual meeting brings a critical energy to the conference and poses as a reminder that our members are here to serve students as some of the most innovative teaching and learning institutions in the world.”

For students, being able to engage with an actual company, research different options, and compete to propose the best viable solution is a priceless learning experience as they prepare to enter the professional work environment. Host companies, through these collaborative student engagements, get a chance to tap into a network of young, creative minds, whose innovate solutions can turn into actionable insights and real job opportunities.
